Apple is set to significantly expand its production in India, aiming to reach approximately $40 billion (about Rs 3.32 lakh crore) within the next 4-5 years. This expansion comes after Apple's successful launch of the made-in-India iPhone 15 series. The company crossed $7 billion production mark in the previous financial year.

The Cupertino-based tech giant's future manufacturing plans in India include the production of its wireless Bluetooth earbuds, Airpods, starting next year. However, there are currently no immediate plans for manufacturing iPads or laptops in the country.

In the financial year ending on September 25, 2022, Apple achieved significant sales figures, with iPhones worth $191 billion and products in the wearable, home, and accessories segment amounting to $38.36 billion. The company has for the first time made available the 'made-in-India' iPhones on the same day it started selling the devices in other parts of the globe.

Apple's iPhone 15 series includes four models, with two variants, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, being manufactured in India. These developments underscore Apple's commitment to expanding its presence and production capabilities in the Indian market.
